I know that seeking help with your mental health within our current system can be challenging and overwhelming at times, and it takes courage and vulnerability to keep taking steps forward on your healing journey. It’s truly an honor to meet you where you’re at on your journey.
My name is Amanda (she/her) and I’m a queer white femme who is rooted in exploring the intersections of systemic oppression, ancestral healing, grief, trauma and collective liberation. I currently reside and practice on the traditional land of the Kalapuya Tribal members both past and present, and honor with deep gratitude both the land itself and the people who have been caring for it since time immemorial.
In the therapy room, I am guided by my strong belief that each person already has the wisdom they need to create change inside of them, and that I am not coming in as an expert to “fix” you. I firmly believe that all humans are capable of growing and changing given the right opportunities, tools, resources and care. Common themes of sessions include working with folks to improve the condition of their self-worth, increase co/self-regulation, increase understanding of neurodivergence, and increasing a sense of compassion and belonging in their community. As a therapist, I know a bit about the therapeutic process and you know a bit about yourself, and with our powers combined I have hope we can co-create a culture of wellness as it aligns with you.
As a systems therapist, I consider not only the experience of the individual client I’m with, but also the entire context of the client which includes the many systems that are affecting and affected by the individual. These systems may include our family systems, community however we define it, local and national government systems, systemic messaging around race and gender, etc. My work is trauma informed, actively anti-racist, queer/trans affirming, neurodivergent affirming, and fully embracing of all economic experiences and abilities. I love supporting clients on their journey to see and recognize the influence of the systems in which we are embedded as well as strengthen the tools they need to achieve liberation for themselves and their communities.
